I came to Edmonton in October 2014 from UK. Through a networking event, I got to know about ERIEC, and I decide to apply to the Career Mentorship Program in June 2015.
The job market is competitive, and the chances of being selected from several hundred applicants for an interview are slim. Coffee meetings (or informational interviews) can increase your odds of getting interviews by applying for the right jobs, getting referred, and bypassing the usual application process.
I finally got the job and am very grateful to ERIEC for matching me with an excellent mentor like Dorothy. I would like to encourage newcomers to Edmonton to contact ERIEC for their Career Mentorship Program.
The first event of this year’s Smart Connections and Branding Yourself series was hosted by ERIEC last June 23rd at the Matrix Hotel in Edmonton. ERIEC has designed this workshop series to help educate internationally trained professionals to align themselves with meaningful employment opportunities in Canada.
